LokixReader- False Love Part 5

You could feel the night wind blow your dress about as you and Loki walked outside. He held your hand tightly and you rested your head on his arm. He smelled of pure cleanliness as you rubbed your cheek against his sleeve. He looked down at you with a gentle smile and you returned it as you looked up at him. You couldn't imagine that this loving man could be capable of slaughtering innocent people, it seemed so foreign to you. The way Loki talked to you, the way he held you; it made you feel protected.

Outside stood all of the frightened people that had escaped from the building. They continued to panic; looking around and calling for help. It made you feel a little bad, and selfish, but you continued to follow Loki as he led you toward them, you didnt question him. Although, you could see that his expression had begun to change. As he looked forward, his face twisted into a dark, mischievous expression, much like the one he wore when he took you.

And then, before your very eyes, Loki's clothing began to transform. He changed from his sleek black suit to a set of stunning, golden armor along with a flowing green cape. And atop his head appeared a massive horned helmet that rivaled the antlers of a stag. You looked at him strangely, but he didnt pay you any attention.

"Loki..? What's going on?" You asked, still trying to keep your voice level and calm. But he didnt answer, he simply continued to stride toward the group of frightened mortals with you in tow. And then you finally looked down at yourself. Your ball gown had been altered into a regal, fluffy dress adorned with lace of black and gold. Puffed sleeves wrapped around your shoulders and pure gold armor protected your chest. And then you reached up, touching the gold tiara Loki had decorated you with. "W-What is this?" You took a step away from him, still examining yourself in disbelief.

"You are to be my queen, Miss [Name], you ought to be dressed like one" Loki finally answered your question, looking down at you with gleaming eyes. He pulled you forward and into his chest. "You are the most ravishing queen in all of the nine realms..." Loki leaned down to coo in your ear. The feeling of his hot breath against your neck made you go pink, and you went even pinker when he gave you a secret kiss under your jaw.  "And very soon, you shall be the most feared" you could feel his lips curve into a grin and you shivered.

"Kneel before my queen and I!" Loki's voice boom to the crowd of humans. They turned to look at him with confused faces. Although they stayed silent, and did not obey. Loki snarled at their misbehavior and raised his spear high in the air. "I said KNEEL!" He shouted as a powerful beam of light sprung from his spear. It smashed into a nearby statue, making you flinch and let out a surprised yelp. You instinctively curled into Loki's chest, even though it was him who had frightened you. Loki's one arm held you close to him, while the other wielded his weapon.

The humans then snapped to their senses, bent and the knee, and went to the ground. They all slowly lowered themselves until you and Loki were the only two left standing.

"Look at them, Miss [Name]. They are pathetic, insignificant beings... You and I, we were meant to rule them" Loki whispered down to you, and you stared back with wide, scared eyes.

"Loki, you're scaring me..." You breathed quietly to him. But before he could reply, an elderly man stood from the crowd.

"Not to men like you..." he said, stone-faced. You and Loki turned your heads toward him and stared. You envied the man's bravery.

"There are no men like me" Loki replied with a twisted smile.

"There are always men like you" The man didnt move a muscle, Loki didnt scare him in the slightest.

"...Look to your elder, people" Loki lifted his spear and aimed it straight at the old man. Your eyes turned to saucers and you grabbed Loki's sleeve roughly.

"Don't hurt him!" You shouted to him desperately.

"Hush!" Loki's head snapped to look at you as he spoke. There was venom in his voice, it made you flinch and try to pull away. But his grip on you was firm and there was no way you could slip out of his arm. You could feel his fingers dig into your hip as you squirmed "This man disobeyed me, he must be punished, [Name]" You shook your head in protest as hot tears stung your eyes. Loki no longer paid you any attention and shot at the old man.

But to your surprise, the shot was deflected by the one and only Captain America. You gasped as the beam deflected off of his trademark shield and ricocheted your direction. Loki grabbed you and turned to protect you with himself. But thankfully, the shot missed. You trembled with fright and clung to Loki with all of your strength. Looking up at him, you could see how concerned he was. You had almost been harmed, and Loki wasn't very happy about it.   

"Get behind me..." Loki growled, quickly stepping in front of you to face Steve, his face contorted in anger.

"Have no fear ma'am, Im here to rescue you" Steve looked to you with pretty blue eyes and nodded as if to reassure his statement. Loki hissed at that and gripped his spear fiercely.

"She doesnt need to be rescued!" He roared before lunging forward at the Captain. You screamed out of fear and backed away, inevitable stumbling on your dress and falling back on your bottom. You pushed yourself away from the battle with your hands, watching as they took swings at each other.

"Loki!" You screamed as Steve lifted his leg to land a kick on him. He heard you and jumped back and out of the way. It scared you to see him in danger, but it also scared you to see all of these other people in danger. You werent sure it was okay for you to be worried for Loki, shouldnt you be cheering for Steve to save you?

But, it didnt seem like that would be happening. Loki picked Steve up with incredible strength and flung him onto the ground. He groaned in pain and tried his best to keep up, but he was losing. You could see Loki smile confidently, he had this battle in the bag, Captain America had turned out to be an unworthy match for his powers. Your breathing quickened, this would mean that Loki would return to you. Did you want that? You still werent sure. He was a dangerous, mischievous man that was capable of all sorts of villainy. But you wanted him.

Just as the battle seemed to be Loki's win, you turned to your left, hearing something that sounded like a speeding missile. It was Iron Man. He flew toward you at top speed, his red and gold suit gleaming in the moonlight. As he reached Steve, he slowed himself down and eventually cut his rockets to land on the ground.

"Tony..." You marveled up at him as his mask mechanically pulled away from his face.

"[Name]?" Stark looked at you with surprised eyes. You had met Tony many times before during your training to become a SHIELD agent, you and him had become rather familiar with each other. He quirked a thick eyebrow at you. "What are you doing here?... and what's with the Cinderella getup?"

"Mr. Stark..." Steve drew his attention. He panted heavily and nodded his helmet covered head towards Loki. "We have some business to attend to."

"Oh, right." Tony lowered his mask again, and his eyes lit up with bright florescent lights. "Make a move, reindeer games" He threatened as he opened his palm and aimed his charged weapon at Loki. Loki didnt move for a moment, and then you heard the whirring sound of Tony preparing to fire.

"No!" You shouted as you scrambled to your feet. You dashed to Loki's side and threw your arms around him, positioning yourself in front of his body as a human shield. "Dont shoot!" You looked back at Tony with desperate eyes. Your breaths came out hard and ragged, you were so afraid. Steve stepped back slightly out of confusion and Tony lowered his arm.

"What the hell is this?" He scoffed as his mask once again pulled away from his face.

"[Name]..." Loki called to you, making you look up at him. He looked dumbfounded, and a little scared. "You'd... You'd protect me with your own life?" he breathed in disbelief.

"Yes. Yes Loki, I would" You hugged him tightly and buried your face into his chest. His armor slowly began to disappear, along with your dress and tiara. Eventually you were both standing there in your former evening outfits. He held you close and stroked your hair, breathing heavily as he looked to Tony and Steve.

"Dont touch her" He growled darkly as they dared to take a step closer to him. You snapped your eyes shut and kept your face hidden, you didnt want to look. Loki pulled you away from them and held you protectively, as if you were a prized gem.

"Come on, you're gonna have to give us the girl" Tony said while rolling his eyes. He stepped closer and closer, making Loki swallow hard. He couldnt let them take you from him, anything but that.

"I said dont touch her!" Loki screamed fiercely, tears beginning to well in his emerald eyes. "She's all I have!" He backed away, still holding you to his chest and stroking your hair to keep you comforted. "I-It's alright [Name], they can't separate us." He whispered down to you in that calming tone that you loved so dearly. You looked up into his wide eyes. He looked scared beyond belief, and he knew that what he said was a lie, yet he forced himself to believe it.

"N-No Loki..." You finally spoke as you tossed a glance at Tony. "You have to... You have to let me go" the words stung your throat as they rolled off your tongue, but it was the truth. You didnt want them to hurt him, and you knew he would have to give you up.

"No..." Loki whispered, you could see salty tears begin to roll down his face. "No THEY CANT TAKE YOU FROM ME!" he screamed at the very top of his lungs. He sounded desperate, afraid, and lonely.

"Loki let go!" it broke your heart to see him in such pain, but you had no choice. You put your hands on his chest and pushed back, trying to release yourself from his arms. Tony came behind you and began to pull as well, and Steve grabbed Loki to keep him back.

"NO! NO [Name] PLEASE!" he tried to cling to you, still crying loudly and trying to break out of Steve's grip.

"LET GO!" You cried, feeling crocodile tears flick from your [e/c] eyes. And then, Tony and Steve successfully broke you away from Loki. You watched him, you watched his face fall with utter hopelessness. All he had ever wanted was someone to love him, he had yearned for it his entire life. He felt as if no one had ever cared for him; he was an outcast, a failure.

"[Name]!" Loki shouted for you as he struggled against Steve. He shook his head back and forth, his raven hair flying around in disarray. "Let her go!" you watched as Loki's heart broke in two. They would never let him see you again, he knew it. Even if he succeeded in escaping, they would protect you. Tony picked you up bridal style, he didnt say a word, and lowered his mask.

"Im sorry..." You whispered to Loki over Tony's shoulder just before he took off into the sky. You held to him tightly as you flew and looked back at the ground as it became smaller and smaller. Yet, you could still hear him.

"[NAME]!" Loki called out for you one last time
